Now a days it is common
to see mothers and elders forcibly feeding the children at home but the
occasion was totally a different experience in Hari Vidyalaya where children
requesting the mothers to serve them food and the food was served in a
traditional manner by hand called “Kai Thuthu” to the children who were sitting
in groups. The female members of SPYSS placed morsels of food by hand on the
palms of the children as was served while having food on a full moon day in
open field.
It was a meaningful and memorable occasion
building good human relationships and symbolic of our ancient culture at Hari
Vidyalaya, Bogadi, Mysore on the 23rd of April.
The event was “Maathru Bhojana” organised
jointly by Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Samsthe (SPYSS), Mysore and Hari Vidyalaya,
Bogadi, Mysuru.
Sri Ravishankar, Pradhana Sanchaalak,
Patanjali Yoga shikshana Kendra, Mysuru was the Chief Guest. He stressed the
importance of continuing our culture which emphasises on good human relations.
Sri. Srinivas Hosamane, Secretary, Hari Vidyalaya presided over the function and
thanked the members of SPYSS who introduced the traditional way of serving the
food to children to Hari Vidyalaya students.
Other prominent office bearers of SPYSS, Prof K.V.Satyan, Director, Hari Vidyalaya, staff and students of Hari Vidyalaya were present.
